SMGnet, the School of Management's internal website, offers SMG students, staff and faculty secure access to a wide variety of
information and resources specific to SMG.

What do I need in order to access SMGnet?
To log into SMGnet you need:
1. A valid BU username and Kerberos password. This is the same BU username and Kerberos password you use to check BU email, the BU Link, and SMGtools.
2. An activated SMG Active Directory (AD) login. To activate your AD login, complete this
online form. There is no harm
in submitting this form multiple times. You must, however, have a BU email account to complete the form.

What is a faculty/staff profile?
SMG faculty have profiles on the School of Management public website,
management.bu.edu. Faculty profiles contain contact information as
well as other information pertinent to instruction and academic history.
Both SMG staff and faculty have profiles on SMGnet in the SMG Directory. Directory listings contain
contact information such as office location and office phone number.

How can I view my faculty profile?
Visit the School of Management public website, management.bu.edu
and select Faculty from the "academics & faculty" menu. Then click the profiles link.
How can I update the information displayed in my profile? Faculty and staff can
log into SMGnet and select the 'Personal Information' and Edit Public Info
links to make edits to their directory listings and/or profiles. When finished, be sure to click submit for the changes to take
effect.
Certain fields such as Name and Title are fixed and cannot be changed through your
SMGnet account. Faculty should contact Richard Wong (wongr@bu.edu) and staff should
contact Jacki DeAngelo (jdeang@bu.edu) with related questions.

How can I submit an event for the SMG Calendar?
Faculty and staff can submit an event for the SMG calendar by logging into
SMGnet and clicking the tab Submit Message. Censorship
personnel will review the message by noon of each business day.
Students who wish to post School-related events should contact Jacki DeAngelo (jdeang@bu.edu)
with their request.
How can students sign up for Team Rooms?
Log into SMGnet and click the following links: SMG
Services > Team Rooms > Make Reservation. Look through the scheduling grid to
find a team room that is available at your desired time and is large enough to accommodate your team. The numbers in parentheses
under the room numbers represent the maximum capacity of that team room. Select the desired team room, reservation time, and
duration as well as the size of your team from the drop down boxes at the top of the grid and then click the Reserve button. Be
sure to browse the User's Guide for reservation confirmation instructions and team room policies.
Reservations must be confirmed in the twenty-minute window starting ten minutes before your reservation begins, or they
will be purged from the system.
